We can see white spots on our babies' teeth. If you see them, you have to come and visit our dental clinic. The reason is that there is a problem with the enamel that needs to be treated, and the sooner the better! If you don't intervene and treat it, the discolouration can turn brown or yellow.

There are several reasons why these spots may appear, and the most sensible thing to do is to never attempt to do a self-diagnosis. Don't worry, it's not usually a symptom of something serious, but it does need to be remedied as soon as possible so that your smile is not damaged. The first thing to do is to determine the cause of the damage to the enamel.

Many parents searching the internet for ways to improve their children's dental health are sometimes misinformed and decide to give fluoride to their little ones. This is a huge mistake. Although we all remember how at school we were made to rinse with fluoride, given at an early age it can damage the enamel and cause these stains.

White spots indicate a problem with the tooth enamel.

Whether for this reason or because the enamel has a lesion due to poor hygiene or another cause, we must intervene as soon as possible, not let it pass and correct the problem so that it does not evolve and end up becoming yellowish. What we can't do either is to make extreme efforts to clean the teeth at home as if that were going to solve anything. Your child may be suffering from Turner's disease. It does not affect half of all children, it appears after the age of two and can be seen, above all, on the upper pallets.

Turner's disease can be very severe, so whenever you see these stains on the teeth of a baby or young child: run to Dr. Consuelo Badía in Valencia! But don't worry, I'm sure it's nothing serious. And if it is, we will move forward together.
