Many parents come to our orthodontic and dental health clinic in Valencia and we diagnose their children with orthodontics. This is where the doubts come in. You have to choose between Invisalign (i.e. invisible or transparent orthodontics) or braces.

In general, children and adolescents always prefer Invisalign. Invisalign is a set of sleeves that can be interchanged at home depending on what we indicate at the start of treatment. They have many advantages. The main advantages are twofold: they are not visible to the naked eye, which is great for their self-esteem, and they are not a nuisance at mealtimes either, as they can be removed.

This is also positive for parents, as we make sure that, if they eat out, they will clean their teeth well to avoid any future periodontal disease or tooth decay. So far so good, but is it worth it? Adolescents and children are so absent-minded, Won't they end up losing their covers? From our experience we can tell you that this is not the case.

Yes, Invisalign will be very worthwhile for your teenager.

When you talk about 'putting an appliance' on a child, they get scared and upset because they think we are going to fill their mouth with 'little irons'. When they see the Invisalign sleeves, they are amazed! They realise that they are going to have a great smile wearing some accessories in their mouth that they can't see, even when they have them done. selfies. This makes them proud of their Invisalign and they take care of them.

It is normal for parents to believe that, as it is an orthodontic that is removed, they will end up losing it. When we were little, we had some very uncomfortable removable braces that were tight to the roof of our mouths. They also had metal elements that were visible, so we weren't too fond of them... so some of them ended up getting lost. But this is no longer the case. When you see your child's face when they get Invisalign you'll see that it's worth it.
